Delano’s Nightclub East Street, Bromley have taken a unique step forward in assisting Police to combat violence.

Electronic identification measures are already in place at the premises. Customers are required to produce photographic identification such as passports and drivers licenses in order to gain access to the club. Details are stored on the computer systems, which are instantly downloadable, including photographs, should an incident arise.

However following consultation with Police and Council Licensing Officers, the owner,  and Management at Delano’s have introduced further measures to make the venue safer for club goers.

Following recent violent offences on the Borough involving weapons, the owner has responded by installing an airport style metal detector arch at the entrance to the club to aid in the prevention and detection of weapons being taken into the club. To compliment this he has also employed a female member of door staff to prevent women smuggling contraband items into the club.

In addition to this the premises are now ‘glass free’ with all drinks, including bottled, being served in polycarbonate instead of glass. This will further reduce the possibility of injury both intentional and accidental.

The aim of Delano’s is to promote safer clubbing and provide an atmosphere that anyone would feel comfortable in.
